ASPHALT ART

STRATEGY

During CITYLAB DC, an annual summit organized by The Atlantic magazine, Bloomberg Philanthropies, and The Aspen Institute brought together mayors from around the world along with policymakers, business leaders, artists, and activists. Our team collaborated with Michael Bloomberg's Asphalt Art Initiative to showcase how cities can use art and community engagement to improve street safety and revitalize public spaces. Summit attendees were able to view art on pavements and structures by stepping onto an LED floor powered by infrared sensors and cameras that tracked attendees' movements as well as view art on walls by moving in front of an LED wall powered by Microsoft Kinect technology.
