PRESTIGIOUS GLOBAL SUMMIT
WASHINGTON DC, 2019.
The mission of the CityLab conference, an annual summit organized by Bloomberg Philanthropies, is to bring together urban leaders from around the world with policymakers, business leaders, artists and activists. The task is to create an atmosphere where guests share ideas, explore solutions, and begin conversations about urban growth, and the responsibility that both urban leaders and city dwellers have to make cities sustainable, environmentally conscious and livable. Shiraz Creative combined key messaging and branding with elevated ideation and event design.
During CityLab DC, Michael Bloomberg’s Asphalt Art Initiative was used to showcase the ways in which cities can utilize community engagement with art in order to improve street safety and revitalize public spaces. Shiraz Creative developed an interactive digital gallery that was viewable to summit attendees both on the pavement and on surrounding walls. An LED floor was powered by infrared sensors and cameras, while a LED wall powered by Microsoft Kinect technology to tracked summit attendees’ movements, allowing for an illuminated experience.
